Hello everyone! And welcome to this new Monthly Review
May has been an extremely busy month in terms of news and events!
Between the change of Protocol to Mercury Protocol and the reduction of Supply to 1000:1, the Carmarthen Bay Film Festival where Rapids was the Sponsor of the Short Film Category, the release of the TipBot V2 by Rapids and the launch of the Bridge between Rapids (RPD) and Wrapped Rapids (BRPD) which will allow you to use your Rapids (RPD) on all the Binance Smart Chain dApps as of May 31st, the past month has not left you any slack.
From the first week and the switch to the Mercury Protocol, this announces the beginning of a long series of festivities that await you. On May 6 Rapids Network passed the Block 1,286,000, which leads to the new Protocol, but even more interesting is the reduction of Supply by 1000, from now on, hosting a Masternode will cost you 10,000 RPD (whereas before it required 10 Million RPD), the Block rewards are also divided by 1000, and all Wallets are updated, following the new Protocol. StakeCube and Graviex are the first two exchanges to make the change, followed by all others. (Video Rapids Academy)
The Rapids Mobile Wallet had its update available on May 13th on your favorite store (Android & iOS), this date also offers us a nice surprise, we counted more than 5000 Wallet downloads on Google Play Store
The 9th of May brings 2 more big news, Rapids Network's BOA Partner, none other than the iconic UK Premier League soccer team, Burnley FC, who in their last home game coinciding with the reopening of the stadiums in the UK, against Liverpool FC, decided to offer a seat to 3500 fans of the Club to attend the last game of the Season at the Turf Moor Stadium, and thus allow them to see the huge Rapids Banner again. The second news of the day is a new Coin Listing on Rapids.Host. You can now use the platform's Staking Hybrid Pool to earn passive income with your ReidoCoin (RDCT), followed 10 days later by a 500 RDCT Airdrop for all holders of at least one RPD Masternode.
For the middle of the month, Rapids announced the launch of its new TipBot on Telegram, scheduled for May 23:
- New Name
- New Design
- Tons of new features!
Welcome to Rapids TipBot V2, renamed Raptic!
The day after its release we already had 300 registered users. To celebrate this, Rapids organized a 'Raptic Referral Contest', spread over 7 days. All Referrers received 0.5 RPD for each new User who registered with their personal link, and each new Referral received 0.5 RPD as well. 10,000 RPD was reserved for this event, and all that was not used was redistributed to the Community. 4 Days after the launch of Raptic, we had over 1000 registered users. This May 2021 was a special edition for the Carmarthen Bay Film Festival, the world famous Welsh Independent Film Festival, with more than 1100 film submissions from 74 countries. This 10th edition was exceptional. For this occasion Rapids Network was the official sponsor of the Short Film category. The announcement of the nominees was made on May 15, and on May 20 we discovered the Grand Winner of the Short Film category, the film 'Nurse'.
The previous month also saw new listings:
- Rapids Masternode is listed on StatsNode
- Bobolex as a new Exchange, allows you to trade your Rapids (RPD) Vs. BTC - USDT - DOGE & TRX, with a little surprise, the first 2 weeks of June, you can make all the exchanges you want, in RPD on this platform, with 0% Fees!
And here we are, we are coming to the end of the month, you thought you could rest? Well NO! On the very last day, May 31, Rapids is making a bridge with Binance Smart Chain official with great fanfare (little clues have been announced since May 17)! Allowing you to convert your Rapids (RPD) to Wrapped RPD (BRPD) at a 1:1 ratio for use on all BSC dApps
See you soon, and remember, in June we change seasons, we will enter the summer. A great opportunity to use your Rapids on BSC, with peace of mind.
