Crypto blogging and social websites - review round 2

in cryptocurrency •  4 years ago

As promised so delivered. These are the results related to my content, commenting activity and earnings during one week on a couple different crypto blogging websites. Any other user may have or receive other feedback or results. You can check my activity in all websites and estimate your own possible results. Once again I have to stress, the results are individual.

This was a plan

Final result: I made 6 posts and commented as frequent as I could. All results are presented in the table. For Blogger posts I found out that NOW we have to re-submit pages we used to have adverts on if they were not pubic for a while. So I left that aside and focused on other things. I played a little bit with the WOW messenger but not too much, so results were miniature.

Now I will go through an each website separately.

Smoke

Smoke is present in all basic categories. Posting was fun and commenting easy and pleasant.

Website is censorship free, semi-decentralized (ran by witness consensus) and content is permanently published on blockchain. .

URL: https://smoke.io/
Explorer: https://explore.smoke.io/
Discord: https://discord.gg/jrN2WmC
Twitter: https://twitter.com/SMOKE_io
Notification: on page, android app

SMOKE can be traded with Rudex or Hive Engine.
SMOKE: $0.0013

Hive

Unlike last time I included the Hive Engine tokens PAL, CCC & LEO. In my case only LEO showed me higher value. For teh other two my content was not impressive.
Commenting was fast and I had no difficulties, but feedback could be better.

As this is the whole ecosystem of frontends, a person can truly chose what to do and how on Hive blockchain.

Website is censorship free, semi-decentralized (ran by witness consensus) and open code. Content is permanently published on blockchain.

Apps: desktop, iOS, Android

Hive can be traded on Blocktrades, Hive Engine, plus all included in Coingecko Market list
HIVE: $0.16
LEO: $0.12

Whaleshares

Whaleshares rewards in tips and daily staking reward. The earnings are not representative but I received the most replies.
Commenting was fast and pleasant, but user comments are not listed further than a few days back in the comment tab.

Website is censorship free, semi-decentralized (ran by witness consensus) and user can decide weather to post on or off blockchain. Website offers other various social features - groups, limited replies, .

Notification: on page

You can trade WLS on Rudex and Hive Engine.
WLS: $0.00027

Blurt

The website is new, still runs OK in terms of spam so I like that part. The only question will be the market price. There are no downvotes, but abusers can be blacklisted and reward button will be removed from their posts. Page comes out as a centralized because of that kind of the censorship, but it could do well in terms of the community value. Users can be blacklisted over so far the Identity Theft and Plagiarism.

Website is moderated, semi-decentralized (ran by witness consensus). Content is permanently published on blockchain.

Notification: Discord bot Dino ( https://discord.gg/Kebuakb)

You can trade BLURT on Ionomy and Hive Engine.

BLURT: $0.00854

Uptrennd

Uptrennd rewards in 1UP ETH tokens. As far as I know the value of a vote is proportional with the user level. The higher the level, the more rewards a single vote deploys.
Commenting was easy and fast, but I got a lot of spam and nonsensical comments under my post. I didn't really enjoy it and that is why I posted lesser number of comments. No matter how I try I can not grow to like this website.
Users can earn by receiving upvotes on their posts and comments, by staking and inviting others.
Page is centralized and moderated, you own your content. Content is not published on blockchain.
Their Whitepaper claims that the most traffic is received from Asia, North America and Europe, while the Alexa audience geography says that the most visitors come from Pakistan, Argentina and Uganda.

1UP: $0.012

Cent

For 10 cents per week posting and commenting is kind of too much. Commenting was fast and easy, but also a pain to monitor because there is no comment/reply tab, only notification tab.
I will check reward tab for a few days. On Cent you can earn by receiving spots (?) on comments an posts, and also by participating in reward commenting (https://beta.cent.co/~rewards). Rewards are calculated in FIAT currency and paid out in ETH.

Page is centralized, moderated, they own your content but you can edit and delete it ( can't delete post title, but can update it to be empty). Content is not published on blockchain.

Telegram:https://t.me/centians
Twitter: https://twitter.com/cent
Notification: on page, email

Publish0x

Commenting was easy, but tipping was a pain, because on average you need to wait a few minutes in between comments. Besides notification slider there is no way to preview all replies and all comments on one place.
On average I received 8 cents per post, but in no other category this website was not special for me.

Ways of earning includes receiving votes on your content and percentage of the referral earnings. Payouts are in BAT, LRC and ETH.

Page is centralized and moderated, you own your content. Content is not published on blockchain.

Twitter: https://twitter.com/publish0x
Notification: on page, in-browser, email

Memocash

Microblogging website built upon BCH ABC. Posting requires a fraction of cents and rewards are tip based ( + tokens). Page is fun and I enjoy using it.

You can trade BCH ABC on numerous trading platforms, wallets etc.

Website is decentralized, censorship free and you own your content. Content is permanently published on blockchain.

URL: https://memo.cash/
Explorer: https://explorer.bitcoin.com/bch https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash
Telegram: https://t.me/memocash
Twitter: https://twitter.com/memobch
Notification: on page, android app

You can also use https://memberapp.github.io/index.html which is semi-moderated where you can opt-in to hide spam content.

Twetch

Twetch is microbloging website built upon BSV ( Bitcoin SV). An each text post you make will const you 2 cents to publish and all actions are monetized - so you can actually earn by people replying to you, liking or sharing you content. Tips are also supported and you will need MoneyButton, Relayx or DotWallet to sign up, login or do anything on the website.

Twetch is centralized and content is permanently published on blockchain.

It has some seriously interesting features, like a user you chose can not reply unless he pays some sort of a ransom that you have previously defined. It is called trolltol

Conclusion

I will no longer post on Uptrennd because it is not enticing for me. I will try comment on reward tab in Cent. Blogger blog will wait until I get adverts working on it. From other websites I will keep Imgur for image hosting and Twitter for news and communication. I plan to use Discord servers more for communities and notifications. I will try to post crypto related content on Pubish0x, because that seems to have the best impact. I will keep on posting on Twetch and Memocash for fun.
Smoke will receive on-topic content and I will diversify my other content between Hive, Blurt and Whaleshares.

Blogs: Hive, Blurt, Whaleshares, Smoke
Social: Memocash, Twetch, Twitter, Imgur, Discord
Test: Publish0x and Cent reward tab

I will still advice you to keep on posting on uptrennd, especially on a 2UP day.
I am yet to understand how memo cash works but I am on read.cash and it's very interesting.

readcash is centralized rigged garbage
I supported them from the start and then noticed stuff that are just not ok

Congrats on doing your test a lot of information, how long in time wise each day did it take to complete?

Writing blog posts was always different, commenting in average took 2-2.5 hours for all websites.
