Case Closed - Bittrex satisfied with my "source of funds" response

in crypto •  4 years ago

Looks like I get to keep my Bittrex account after all!

Apparently I supplied them with all the information they needed.

Bittrex hit me with a "Source of Funds" request a couple weeks back, or else I would lose my account within a week...

I posted about it several days back:

https://hive.blog/hive-167922/@jrcornel/bittrex-asking-for-source-of-funds-verification

Fast forward a week and apparently I supplied them with everything they needed to know as they got back to me fairly quickly and told me they didn't need anything else from me and I was good to go.

Check it out:

Looks like I get to keep my Bittrex account for at least a little while longer!

In all seriousness though, I actually feel slightly better about my Bittrex account now as it is probably "cleared" in a way and I most likely won't have to worry about a random account freeze or closure at some point down the road.

They know where my funds came from and they are satisfied with it.

Anybody else have to go through this?

Stay informed my friends.

Good to know it worked out.

Yes, it would have been a major bummer to lose Bittrex. Any chance we can get Blurt listed on there?

@megadrive is driving Blurt business strategy and direction.

I'm just helping out as a Witness/Non-Managing Founder with connections here and there, and waiting to launch my own Blurt flavored fork/airdrop called Zapata.

I did talk to a decision maker at Bittrex about Blurt, but this was pre-launch Blurt, before our internal hardfork, if you will, where the Blurt team (and small community) split into a tough decision whether or not to give Steemit the airdrop. It's very hard for new projects to get the attention of a decision maker at Bittrex.

I thought that giving Steemit the airdrop would make for a better story that we could sell more effectively to try and secure no-fee exchange deals like Hive did.

Blurt ended up forking out the Steemit stake and leveraging it to build the Blurt community.

Does that mean Zapata will have an easier time listing considering it is keeping all stake intact?

On another note Bittrex is getting sued by some of the current Hive guys and I wouldn't be surprised if bittrex wants nothing more to to do with things relating to steem/hive/blurt/zapata...

"Does that mean Zapata will have an easier time listing considering it is keeping all stake intact?"

This was my market assumption from talking to connections in the media and industry, specifically at exchanges, they liked the story, but we missed the opportunity how things ended up playing out.

Now if/when Zapata ever launches, it will likely be a fork of Blurt that I myself will build a team around and take to market in a very aggressive and strategic way.

I've tried to cultivate a good relationship with Bittrex over the years, or as good as it can be for a crypto BD professional tied to multiple projects like me.

I thought zapata was a fork of steem with a snapshot taken at the same time as blurt?

It was supposed to launch as such but was delayed due to technical difficulty with Blurt and now we are not certain when it will launch or what the economics will look like as that market opportunity seems to have passed us by.

If it is going to be a fork of blurt, then it won't include the steemit, inc stake by default, correct?

It always make me smile when companies put "Bad, I'm unsatisfied." as an option but still expect everyone to choose "Good, I'm satisfied."

Why even have it as an option?

Because otherwise they would lose customers, because customers expect they can flunk the companies with negative reviews... I used to get a few phone calls when I gave 0 as numeric review...

Some places like Google Play Store don't allow giving 0 star reviews... Then people just report the apps as harmful to their devices.

I know people who work in places like that and they say bad reviews hurt their employee metrics and those metrics determine whether they get raises and bonuses or even fired.

Some companies like Amazon try to get as many bad reviews as possible... Others panic if they get anything else than 5 star review...

What do you mean they try to get bad reviews?

There's shitload of social media videos online about Amazon... Some of them trash Amazon for inadequate packaging, but there is a few that tell how easy it is to get a refund from Amazon... Basically for every bad review, people post 5 positive reviews.

But why would Amazon want bad reviews???
