Inside JaiChai's Head: "Random token deposits into your crypto wallet? Don't fall for this scam!"

Some recent events:

I randomly received 62,000 BOOM Token in my Exodus wallet.

Was I expecting a BOOM Airdrop? No.

Did I initiate a BOOM ERC-20 to BOOM BEP-20 token swap? No.

Is the 62,000 BOOM a bonus from Swap Aggregator or DEX transactions? No.

Does the advertised swap platform for BOOM BSC (Pancakeswap V2) recognize these tokens in my wallet? No.

Is this a PHISHING SCAM? YES! YES! YES!

This type of scam attempts to coax the receiver to interact with the fake token (e.g., Send, external Swap, exchange Trade, etc.).

Then whatever gas fees are routed to the scammer(s).

In my case, the scammer setup a 0.61 BNB (~$300) transfer fee!

Lastly, the accompanying data on transactions involving the scam token can expose the rest of your tokens to the scammer; or worse, leave your wallet wide open for the hacker to stroll right in and clean you out.
