We shall see if the SEC will really cough up the unredacted emails, or will seek to get out of this mess with a settlement. The problem with any settlement is that the case does not lead to a judicial decision and therefore the underlying issues are never resolved - until the next case.

Ripple unveils CBDC platform enabling governments to issue digital currencies

This wa always the big plan.

The platform’s use cases will be displayed through the e-HKD pilot, a CBDC program announced by Hong Kong’s central bank – HKMA. Meanwhile, the XRP issuer is also cooperating with the Taiwan-based Fubon Bank to create a product for real estate asset tokenization and equity distribution.

Wells Fargo to pay $1B in shareholders lawsuit settlement

In a statement, the bank said it disagreed with the allegations made in the lawsuit. On the other hand, while it disagrees with the accusations, it is “pleased to have resolved this matter.”

In December 2022, Wells Fargo also reached a $3.7 billion agreement with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to resolve allegations that the bank’s actions had harmed more than 16 million individuals with deposit accounts, auto loans and mortgages.

Big banksters playing their usual game - bet the profits were larger than the settlement.
