This is good news for those of you who like DEXs: In a first, DEX platform dYdX surpasses Coinbase in trade volumes.
I think this is due to a bit of buzz over the issuance of their gov token, but even so, great to see a DEX go mano a mano with a CEX. Get more info on dYdX here.
Our first ever mini-contest, just to see who is paying attention. One free BYT token to the first person to tell us what the name "dYdX" means!
Another project on the horizon is Coinrule; not so much an automated trader but automated trading strategies. Coinrule’s Automated Crypto Trading Platform Attracts Major Investors
“This is about addressing inequality, because 90% of the crypto market is controlled by the big investment banks and hedge funds,” says Gabriele Musella, one of Coinrule’s cofounders. “We want to put normal people on a level playing field—to give them the opportunity to implement the same strategies and to learn as they invest.”
90%! Maybe you thought crypto was "for the people, by the people."

I have 100 BYT set aside for contests. I may just smuggle questions into posts, just to see who is paying attention ;-)
Sometimes we may not be answering because we don't know. I'm sure I could search the answer(s) but all that would prove is I can search. :/
I went as far as college algebra, and while I excel at what I call normal math and my ability to perform it in my head, I was never drawn to algebra/calculus despite my stellar grades in college. While acknowledging that many things were made possible by such equations, it always felt like a fake math. I had a teacher who excelled at calculus and she would tell me things like she could prove that 1+1 does not equal 2.
As I mentioned a few times before, I'm a simple man. And for one such as I, 1+1 will always be 2, hahahaha.
Will be curious to see if anyone actually knows the answer to your challenge.
Sure! lol. I even looked it up, so as not to look foolish - sometimes, a clever joke can be purely accidental!
OK, let's put the flash-contest to bed :-)
dYdX in this context means 3 things.
1 - dy/dx is the derivative of y wrt x in calculus.
2 - the word "derivative" is also used in finance to mean products derived from some asset eg futures, options etc.
3 - in a uniswap pool the swap price is defined as... dy/dx for coins X and Y.
tadah!!
dYdX comes from a mathematical term (calculus), which means the derivative of y with respect to x.
and? ... there's also a little defi joke in the name.
IMO the name has THREE components ;-) bundled into a joke.
Don't worry @maskuncoro, you got your 1 BYT :-)
But 1 BYT to anybody else who can give the full monty: a 3-part answer.
Thank you @blurtyield
