“We want to make sure that the developments that we see in virtual worlds are fully in line with our European values from the outset – values such as inclusion, respect of privacy, non-discrimination and equality,” Yvo Volman, Director of Data at the European Commission's digital department, DG CONNECT, said at an event hosted by the Commission in Brussels.
We want the metaworse to reflect our cultural history of religious intolerance, perpetual squabbles, organised crime and an elite that controls the online behaviour in such a way so that people will never remember their real past.
We want people to be chained to the metaworse so that they are even more oblivious than now to what is going on around them. We want them to feel so safe that they will never leave.
We therefore need laws to ensure this ersatz reality becomes a public zoo we can be proud of.

We want the metaworse to be an enhanced experience for the user, with greater safety, fewer intrusive messages and a fair price to pay for the privilege of not having to take the garbage out.
