Attacks on Bitcoin? Don't Worry; Bitcoin is Unstoppable! (But that doesn't mean we'll do nothing)
One of the few people worth listening to on video. This one is very short, but answers an interesting question.
As Andreas says, worth paying attention at the type of attacks on Bitcoin; most are social propaganda. We can even see this as big banksters pop up to announce they've been accumulating after periods of regulatory FUD. They are not going to tell you while they are accumulating.
Real attacks on the viability of the protocol will need active defending at the code level. This suggests that it isn't, as yet, perfect! It also means to pay attention as to the nature of any attacks on Bitcoin.
Internet Computer Issues ‘Liquid Bitcoin,’ for Faster and Affordable BTC Transactions
Unlike wrapped tokens, controlled by a centralized entity, ckBTC uses canisters — smart contracts for asset transfers — and does not require intermediaries or risky cross-chain bridges.Users deposit real bitcoin to their deposit address and receive an equal amount of ckBTC. Similarly, users can return ckBTC tokens to receive an equal amount of real bitcoin at a specified bitcoin address.

for context: Bitcoin Inscriptions & Ordinals [pdf, podcast]
Decent article, as it isn't the ordinals that are the real problem - that's like putting a unique ID on every banknote - but rather the inscriptions can create very fast chain bloat. You can see on chain size graphs the gradient has increased recently as more blocks are near capacity.
really, Andreas is one of the few sane voices in crypto - always seen him balance the positives and negatives.
I still think Bitcoin is a honeypot, but let's see how long the honey lasts. The ability to fork any chain means a dilution of power. eg, ETC v ETH.
Bitcoin is resilient, and I doubt that someone is able to damage it
the latest challenge are ordinals/inscriptions.
I smell a fork coming.
Probably BCH 2.0, but these things will happen sometimes, and are necessary to evolve Bitcoin and any other crypto. Unfortunately, I believe that the next years will be a little bit difficult to all of us...
I suspect more than "a little bit" - this is just a lull.
