A16z votes against proposal to deploy latest Uniswap iteration on BNB Chain
OxPlasma Labs put forward the proposal to deploy Uniswap V3 on BNB Chain, using the Wormhole bridge for the deployment. A16z put its considerable UNI holdings to use by voting against it. The VC firm has significant skin in the game [and backs LayerZero as a bridge], as does Jump Crypto [which backs Wormhole] — pitting two of the space's most active VCs against each other. Voting will conclude on Feb. 10.
Deploy Uniswap v3 (1 / 0.3 / 0.05 / 0.01) on BNB Chain (Binance)
As any outsider should note, the process itself is interesting. The winners in anything are not always the best tech, and given the propensity for bridges to be hacked, I'd like to see one of the multisig proposals given more weight, where traffic is directed towards the consensus bridge; what this also means is that traffic can then be very quickly diverted away from any bridge that seems to wobble, without then going through another vote.
unislops v3 is crap anyway, and easily manipulated by big players front-running known large trades.
