Shackled minds - Do you know your history? Steemit - hive - blurt

Insider trading.

My original account on steemit was deliberator which I sold when it went down to $1 from the peak of $8 ish. I was at times critical of steemit and the foundations of it via articles on steemit.
There were many insider accounts as I said then, and will state as fact again, anything or any account pre launch that was on the site before it launched is suspect.
Our own @freedom account on here that sits idle and has never voted, never spoken, never even been logged into (I suspect) is one such account.
You may note that freedom on steemit was the "main" account delegating to bidbots on there, similar to vote trading on here that I do not use or know how to use.
Once the community decided on steemit that bidbots were bad steemit not long after was sold.

I count 6 freedom accounts that ninja mined steem via a pow, there maybe more, I just could not be bothered to look.

Berniesanders.

That account was at the center of controversy when I joined, the reputation was minus 16, I guess this post might be hard to follow if you do not know about reputation scores, they went up or down on steemit based on monetary vote weight up or down.
The berniesanders account always argued with Ned a founding father of the site alongside Dan who talked the former into being the "face" of the site and public whipping boy for criticism.
The bernie account was also ninja mined before release so I suspect it was ned or dan's alter ego like jeckyl and hide.

https://steemd.com/@berniesanders?page=5655

Why do I think bernie was an insider account? At times the account seemed to have excellent tech knowledge, at other times admitted to having none, if none, how did it mine? And we can clearly see from the page above it did. Also at times that account spoke like a girl in female American slang, at times like a boy, at times leaning left towards gay people, at times abusive, at times (most of the time) outright rude, like multiple people logged in and ran the account for fun and or drama. I counted over 200 alt accounts for bernie including charlesmanson. Nextgencryto was also a vindictive account run by the same people, there were over a 100 of them accounts also set up by the berniesanders (crew) cult, ned/dan.

Smooth was another account created pre launch that had hundreds of alt accounts ninja mining. Ninja mining = mined before the public could. https://steemd.com/@smooth?page=310

When I say ned was talked into it, I can use neds own steemd to show he had not a single clue how steemit worked, or the concept of it here.

dantheman transfer 1 STEEM to ned thanks bro!

https://steemd.com/@ned?page=384

The "thanks bro" came before the "another demo" quote, he was showing ned how the concept worked, and thanking him for taking the whipping boy public face puppet job.
I must admit I did feel sorry for ned at times when everyone on the site hated him, dan publicly fell out with him and left him to take a beating, whilst behind the scenes Dan had never really left.

You can see from day 1 and page 1 of dan's account history he was a big fan of down-voting people, nasty vindictive little man he was, but publicly he was upvoting people with money, with tokens, looking like the good guy by throwing some coins to peasants every now and again, while ned was not allowed to do the same. https://steemd.com/@dan?page=128

8 of the first ten actions Dan did was downvote people.

There were many accounts ninja mined by a handful of people on steemit, hive is no different as it forked the same coins to the same bad actors, so did blurt.
I am not having a go at blurt for that neither, it is ethical though self harming as they dump the coins.
I do not claim to know a better way of forking a site, so I will leave it at that.

But think about this, when the founding father, the inventor was so way inclined to down vote 8 out of ten people on his first day, what kind of precedent does it set?

Sure azircon, themarkymark et al all joined later, but when a culture is nurtured towards vindictive removing of rewards, there is no way back!

There are many accounts started pre launch, I do not have the time or inclination to list them all, I covered the bad actors when I was on steemit, maybe one day I shall dig them old posts out, but I doubt it, better things to do.

Off for a ride on a motorbike now. Have a superb day ahead.

Many of those names were created as a result of this Bitcointalk thread where it was all originally mined. There was a glitch where Dan/Ned miner went down so they restarted the mining to the anger of some of the participants.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1408726.0

Their instructions were extremely vague, and it was through the hand holding on nextgencrypto (Bernie) that others were able to mine for the most part. Purely speculation on my part, but I often began wondering after I went down this hole years ago if Steem wasn't paid and built for by Bernie. The war between him and Dan being a strong part of the "reason " for Dan leaving. His trolling of Ned as though they were on the outs.

I watched that account and they acted with impunity for the most part, allowed to break every rule that even large stakeholders like Haejin/Rancho were unable to get away with.

There was a lot of theater taking place there, well before I stumbled on the place in 2017. I forget the account name, but one of the many argument vendettas against Bernie had revealed Bernie had been pretending early on to be at war with an account that was later discovered to be owned by him as one example.

Coupled with Neds comment that the Bernie/Haejin war was good for Steem(it) and it helped me shape my thoughts on why meltdowns and wars over the abuse were only helping them. There is a lot of truth to the plebes will ignore a lot of abuse if they can be kept entertained.

I think Ned was chosen because he was probably a lesser investor and for his looks. While Dan had the brains and connections to write the code, I think it's fair to say that between his poor reputation among many Bitcoin enthusiasts (he and his father have long been referred to as the Larimer gang) to his looks aren't exactly inspiring he wouldn't have made a great front man.

As for the Freedom account, while none of us outside that initial group who were behind that mining thread will really know unless there's a slip up, I always assumed it was Bernies.

I will never change my mind, I think bernie is dans alt account and yes ned was chosen for looks alone, he had not a single clue about code.
The fact they thought drama was a good thing for steem as you stated is why they created the drama themselves with pre mined accounts, and as you state correctly, they even tried drama during mining to gauge reaction and see how committed the peasants were. The world is a stage and all that jazz.

Enjoy your bike ride. I basically forgot about Steemit though I sometimes enjoyed the Bernie Sanders show. Blurt seems to be a nice place to rest and Blurt about something. A lot of the same song is sung everywhere... Those who got in early got a good piece of the pie.

I did cheers friend. I post on steemit every few months for a nice basic income upvote, other than that I have little interest in the place now, was just raking over old memories with this post for those that do not know what went on. And as blurt is based on the steemit model, minus dv it seemed apt to write this.

What a mess was that. Really crazy to remember.

Big mess, self inflicted, they should have stayed behind the scenes and not been in the public eye other than to promote the site to the media.

They sure ruined steem. Hope you have lots of fun riding the bike.

Just got back, yes it was a fun ride bro, and yes they ruined it with drama and down votes, self inflicted, it was only going up in value till they thought drama made for value.

I appreciate the history lesson.

You are most welcome.

I have noticed that many Hive whales already sold their BLURT

Yes, they hate blurt but are happy to cash in, hypocrites the lot of them. The freedom account still has millions but I doubt very much Ned or Dan care about $270,000.00 dollars due to ethereum.

Because of how things worked out on steemit, bernie indirectly made me about $15k richer. But i still hate the prick!

Lol, bernie was ninja mined and Dan's alt account, they love drama, look at hive, nothing has changed.
