A hat trick of muppetry that fuels bullying in school environment.

It has been almost two weeks since the day I curated a bunch of posts about bullying, the dangers of bullying and people's personal experience with bullies. These were entries to a contest and I'm glad I got to read a couple of those posts because it got me thinking of why someone else will derive joy in making other people's lives a living hell.

Back in the day, most cases of bullying were predominant in school environment. It is usually a case of a group of cowards stepping on the toes of a weak classmate or senior students messing with junior students. The bullies toy with their victims and they see it as a display of strength.

Funny enough, they also see this act of bullying as a fun thing, meanwhile some victims of bullying usually suffer psychological trauma forever.

Do you know what I find disgusting about cases of bullying on school premises?

First are the bullies who derive joy in toying with others. They are usually the lousy students with dead brains who are not interested in learning. While their victims tread in fear, it whets their appetite to victimise more people. Bullies are muppets.

Second are those that have a duty of care in school environments. More often than not, school authorities are usually aware of the bullies and the bullied. They know of the existence of bad eggs, but they still feign ignorance and allow things to escalate.

Third are parents. Many parents do not react accordingly whenever they are told that their kids are bullying others in school. For them, as far as their kids are not on the receiving end, they will never see anything wrong with such action. Sadly, some parents also fail to show up when their child is a victim of bullying.

As you can see, when all these factors play out, the only one that suffers is the victim. Little wonder why most victims of bullying usually grow up with trauma. I believe the story would have been different if they were in an environment filled with responsible people.

If only the bullies were properly punished the first time they bullied someone, they may never have become chronic bullies. If only school authorities took a good step against bullying, victims of bullying would have found it easier to report bullies. If only parents of bullies and parents of the victims took the right steps, bullying would have been at its bare minimum at the moment.

But, y'all know that even in this present day and time, bullying is massively growing in the society at large. Netizens are not out of the question. Many bullies have advanced to cyberbullying. They are known as keyboard warriors.

Once they pick someone as their target, whatever the person posts will be subject to negative reactions and nasty comments. While the bullied are suffering, the bullies are smiling and picking more target.

Weird... So weird! Isn't it?
