Bitcoin activist Andreas Antonopoulos has announced that he intends to appear in court in April 2021 to testify in the Craig Wright case.
"The Federal court approved my status as an expert witness in this case, rejecting a motion by the defense that sought to exclude me and other experts," he wrote.
Court documents show that Wright's side tried to limit the presence of other experts invited by the prosecution, including cryptography specialist Matthew Edman and economist Stefan Baedeker.
The court, however, partially granted the defense's request, noting that the testimony that Antonopoulos intends to give in connection with the messages of bitcoin Creator Satoshi Nakamoto should be relevant to the case.
"Simply reading out messages or emails in a public forum is not an 'opinion', and jurors do not need expert assistance in performing this task," the document says.
In addition, the court declined to attach antonopoulos ' opinion to The case regarding the message "Craig is a liar and a fraudster" sent from one of the addresses attributed to Wright in may 2019, as an attempt to influence perceptions of the defendant.
Previously, it was assumed that the Wright case would begin on October 13, but the deadline was later postponed.
