All my family and "friends"? got together had a big thanksgiving last week... without me.

I didn't go. I told them I didn't want to go because of corona and I told my mom you shouldn't have a big party this year.
She said that corona is a weak virus and only 0.001% of people get it and many people recover from it so she wasn't worried.
She live in a country side that not many people are infected so I thought maybe they would be okay...

Turned out my brother got it from work and he gave it to his wife and kids, and they all spreaded corona at thanksgiving dinner...😨😨😨
My brother knew that he was tested positive but he didn't say anything because he doesn't believe in corona.
So now pretty much enitre family plus some random people at the party got tested positive.
They all seem to be doing okay though... but still I am very worried about my grandma.
She is old and has underline health issues.

Hopefully everybody will fully recover... like my mother said.
But then if they do recover, they will have a big Christmas party again... i feel like 😞

My grandparents got the virus, I think, they didn't get tested, but the symptoms were pretty much textbook corona ones. They're feeling okay now, my grandfather was a bit worse he had 39C fever. I'd say the biggest problem is not that you can't recover from it, but that hospitals are overwhelmed and can't give you the appropriate care if you need it. My grandparents luck was that my aunt is a nurse and took care of them at home, but if they were to go to the hospital who knows how it could have turned out?

Wow you family got tested too. My family seem to be doing okay... no severe symptoms or anything yet. I think it is too early to tell?
Im glad your grandparents are okay
