Copper or Iron?

Hi Friends,

While hiking, prospecting and rockhounding in Arizona, I found this metal ore that had my pinpointer going crazy:

I believe the ore is either copper or iron. Which do you think it is? I did smash it up a bit to make sure there was not a gold seam running through the middle - nope.

I was in a heavy mineralized area and was a mile or so away (though mountainous terrain) from an active mining operation (I own some of their stock - ticker NHVCF) which produced 95,000 ounces of silver and 11,000 ounces of gold last quarter.

This find came in at 2.2 ounces. Iron is $0.005 per ounce and copper is $0.29 per ounce (pure/refined), so the value would be $0.01 for iron or $0.64 for copper (if it was pure, which it is not). Maybe I should keep my day job.

I had fun and got some exercise... Maybe next time it will be 2.2 ounces of gold ore!

Thanks for coming by,
Brian
