Monday Red: A Rather Friendly Parrot

in colourchallenge •  3 years ago

We have some pretty amazing birds around here. From the very noisy corellas to beautiful red tailed cockatoos, we are blessed. In our garden we have had over 100 different birds visit from tiny rare pardalotes to beautiful blue wrens. But everyone loves the parrots that get quite friendly on the coast, mainly because tourists feed them bird seed.

Last year, before Dad got sick again, we stayed the night in Apollo Bay with my parents. In the morning, a parrot came down to check us out. He was very inquisitive, landing on the cars and the garden.

Much to our joy, he even landed on shoulders and heads. One is never too old to find joy in that.

Although sharp claws can get a little painful after a while. 🦜🤪

Of course, when it landed on our old Landrover, we made sure we got some snaps for our Instagram account, @wildtrackdreaming.

Thanks!

Many parrots and parakeets come to my backyard, but not this variety, they really are very beautiful and curious, hahahaha. What great photos!

That parrot on the defense of the vehicle has left me a good time observing this image, the combination of colors of both and the mixture between living being and machine in symbiosis is a great image. Thanks for bringing her. @riverflows
