October 1, is observed as World Coffee Day.

World Coffee Day was first observed on October 1, 2015 by the International Coffee Organization in Milan, Italy.

Currently, coffee drinks are one of the favorite drinks for people, because of the delicious aroma and taste.

So, how was the history of this World Coffee Day sparked?

Reporting from National Today, according to historical records, the first coffee is thought to have come from Ethiopia, East Africa around the 700s.

At that time, a goat herder named Kaldi, felt a strange attitude towards his flock, because it acted almost like he was dancing.

It is suspected that they ate coffee cherries and concluded that this was the cause of the strange behavior of the cattle.

Kaldi decided to share his findings with a monk who needed something to help him stay up all night while he prayed.

But another story states that the monk refused and threw the beans into the fire and gave off a delicious aroma.

But launching NCA USA, the story did not appear in writing. So it's hard to know the truth of the story.

However, people believe that the truth of the story is that coffee cultivation began in Ethiopia.

Suddenly, coffee spread from the north to Yemen in the XV century where coffee beans arrived under the name "Mocha".

Subsequently, Mocha became a favorite by most people, especially in Egypt, Persia, and Turkey as the "wine of Araby" and coffee shops began to open under the name "Schools of the Wise".

Arabia also became a popular region for its coffee, then these beans began to be cultivated on large-scale coffee farms in South India.

In 1560, coffee spread throughout Europe and quickly became popular.

Then, in the 1600s, more and more coffee shops sprang up across Europe, and coffee began to make its way into the US.

Finally, after a long time, in 2014, the "International Coffee Organization" declared October 1 as International Coffee Day, an opportunity to celebrate coffee as a drink and raise awareness of the plight of coffee farmers.
