THE MASTER KEY

Romans 2:4
Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

This scripture is so profound and has had a profound impact in my life. Before I got some light from this scripture, I thought that It was the fear of God’s judgement that led to repentance. Most of the messages I heard was that of judgement. But this scripture says it is his kindness or his goodness that leads to repentance. This aligns with many other scriptures, for example the Gospel, which means good news is the power of God unto salvation (Rom 1:16). Going to hell is not good news Romans 1:16 is talking about, but the fact that hell is real but Jesus has gone there for us already by his sacrifice and we do not have to go there just by accepting him as lord and saviour. Once the grace of God, which as appeared to all men is not understood, messages rooted in the law is mainly about judgement and punishment.

This is the strategy of evangelism. We go tell the people about the kindness and goodness of God. Is it not interesting that even when we were sinners, and the proper time for God to kill us, instead of killing us, Christ died for us. Glory!! This is the grace of God and this is the love of God. Love is the greatest of all. No wonder talking about his love, which is his goodness and kindness is the master key to getting sinners saved.

“Sinners in the hand of a angry God”. But the scripture says God has reconciled the world in Christ. So there is no anger. He has already released his anger on Christ. We get baptised in Christ and we enter his peace. Glory! Glory!! Glory!!!!
