Lift : Netflix's Fresh Out of the Oven, Fresh from the Smoker

The movie Lift was opened to the service of action lovers as one of Netflix's freshly baked, steaming, fresh productions.

First of all, the movie was quite remarkable in terms of its subject. Touching on current issues, the production focuses on gaining profit by manipulating from the recent pandemic process to the NFT world.

The featured team, or should I say characters, offer examples of modern theft keeping up with the developing technology. Yes, the movie keeps the spectrum quite current and broad by focusing on fraud and theft alongside the action genre.

The first 15 minutes of the movie were extraordinary. In this state, I can say that I raised my expectations quite high, but then the tempo left its place to stagnation and more dialogues. This made the movie boring for a while because the action was no longer staged with a show but with a narrative.

I quite liked the movie in terms of the acting, but I think that the pacing scenes in the editing and immersion were deliberately placed. Maybe too much exaggeration was avoided, I don't know, but I think it would have been better if they had kept the dialogues shorter instead of limiting the exaggeration.

Kevin Hart, who plays Cyrus as the head of the modern thieving crew, is at his best. From the NFT auction in the opening scenes of the movie to the moment he buys the NFT, he was phenomenal. When the movie went downhill, he played his role in the best way possible.

The action sequences, though limited, were successful, but I can't say the same for the cinematography because it was obvious that most of them were shot on a model. When watched carefully, it did not move away from the fake look that even the most amateur eye can recognize.

We know that some of Netflix's productions are inspired by other movies and as viewers, we have come to accept this. There were similar situations in the movie Lift. While watching it, I got the feeling that they were inspired by the movie Red Notice and sprinkled similar actions.

If you don't have high expectations, the movie seems ideal for a fun time. There are not many action scenes, and in some parts they preferred to describe the action verbally. I can say that the acting performances were quite good. I didn't like the cinematography and the scenes I liked the most were the ones about the sale of NFTs. In the light of all this, you can make your own choice whether to watch the movie or not. For those who will watch it, I wish you a good time.
