We had a real Christmas tree this year!! "Grandpa" chopped it down for us at a "U-cut" farm. I haven't had a real tree, or even a full-sized tree in a long time. It felt nice to revive an important tradition for our children, along with other things like lyrics to carols. My son loves Deck the Halls and Jingle Bells. We even found tinsel for it! We had snowfall at advent, but it didn't stick, so we didn't get to go sledding...it was more coastal than arctic weather so far this year.
I hope you all had a wonderful solstice/Christmas/Holiday season this year. Don't forget mushrooms are the reason for the season, and this year was a wonderful harvest! They range from a halloweentime yellow and orange to a beautiful Christmas red. They're my new favourite Christmas motif.

My Super Mario-obsessed nephew loved the green and red combo!
They look so good nestled in the pine, just like in nature!
Merry Christmas, God Jul, and Happy Solstice! To a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2025!
