My Christmas wish

in christmas •  2 years ago

This post goes out to my friends on Blurt! This blockchain sure has its pros and cons... but one thing is certain - so many of the people here are top notch! I hope you all have a wonderful Winter Solstice today/tomorrow, and a very merry Christmas, a happy New Year, and anything else you celebrate!

I just baked these shortbread cookies. They're dry, crumbly, and DELICIOUS!

I've noticed in past years that when I post a Christmas message near the actual day, almost nobody sees it. I think a lot of people turn their computers right off while they're busy with presents, family, big dinners, and so on. So I figured, why not post my Christmas greetings a few days earlier, on Solstice?

I put some chocolate and some walnuts on this batch. Freakin' amazing! And so easy, just a few ingredients in a mixing bowl, then into the oven.

My Christmas wish is... please have a very safe, happy, and peaceful holiday season with your friends and family. If you're alone this year, I wish you even more of the same, and feel free to reach out if you want. For those who don't celebrate anything at this time of the year, I still wishy you a safe, happy, and peaceful transition to the new 2023 calendar.

Here's my all-time favourite Christmas song, straight out of my childhood memories - Kermit the Frog and John Denver singing Christmas Wish in 1979:

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Chocolate-covered shortbread is the best thing ever! I wish we could have a wood-burning fire or any fire this season.

Great Post! Merry Christmas and I enjoyed the kermit/ john denver throw back. Things sure seemed pretty darn normal back then compared to the world we have today.

Thanks Dan! Yeah as a kid growing up in the 80s, I had a vague sense that things were going fairly well for Canada and the world in general. I started to learn about the past, and how things had not always been that great. In the 90s, I had the feeling we were really getting better and better all the time, that racism was being eradicated, that sexism was on the decline, that world peace was possible. But about 2000 or so it felt like something was off, and I really woke up in 2006-9, learning that history was full of lies, that the present was dangerous, and that the future was extremely uncertain. Racism and sexism has reappeared in the Western world, except now, you and I are the target. Peace seems unattainable, the free market has been replaced by "the economy" which is perpetually manipulated by the deep state, and now the whole Covid scamdemic and bioweapon. Looking back on 1980 is like looking back to another society altogether - very little of those days remains, except in older people's memories. Young people are told not to listen to anyone over 30 and culture is being erased quickly, along with our basic human rights. Wouldn't it be nice to hang out with John Denver, Kermit, and a few old friends for a while?

As always a excellent well thought out discourse that I always enjoy. Sitting in my university dorm watching the twin towers come down in in NYC at age 19....combined with George Noory and Coast to Coast AM (where you can find the most exotic and interesting free speech for that time..pre-internet) I would say that led me to around the same time frame as you shortly after the 2008 financial crisis I swallowed enough red pills to realize I've been brainwashed and lied to my entire life! Up is down and left is right.....just how they like it :/...lol Insane world. All you really can do is take care of yourself and your family to the best of your ability. We are all very much on our own compared to what they would have us believe.

It's a rough ride, coming out of the stupour of ignorance, and into the real world. Like when Neo takes the pill and basically has to almost die, in order to see clearly and realize he was caught in the Matrix. I have big respect for anyone who manages to do it! Too many people catch just a glimpse, and recoil in horror at the sheer ridiculousness of their situation, or fall deep into hopelessness, and/or just go back into full denial, inserting themselves back into the Matrix, like that character Cypher... "ignorance is bliss". I'm the kind of guy who was never able to be willfully ignorant. My 2nd/middle major relationship once told me "you have an unhealthy obsession with the truth and reality". I agree with her, except that it's not unhealthy, just very hard. I can't imagine what it would have been like to be in NYC when the towers came down, wow.

"you have an unhealthy obsession with the truth and reality".

That sounds about right...hahaha

I'm just grateful I left the US at age 20, which really aided in my awakening of what is and what is not.....

Led me to being semi retired since age 25 and traveling the world, enjoying myself my adventures ever since.

I have a way of turning lemons into lemonade. Turn that frown up-side down! hahah Too bad I was unable to accomplish that with Blurt. After having my successful blog destroyed on hive by the demonic pieces of shit over there; I really hoped my efforts with my hive cabal expose would have put more fuel behind the price of Blurt, but little did I know there were too many outside forces at play...ie the Mk, megadrive, ctime, lucylin, double-u issues, and more.... like bitcoin dropping about 75% since that time as well. But I certainly gave it my all and put my money where my mouth was. However since I'm rambling on this topic, it ain't over until the fat lady sings, and it will be interesting to see what Blurt does during the next crypto bull run.

If we can get rid of the leeches at the top, Blurt will have a good chance during the next bull run for crypto. It will be like silver in a PM bull market... going up proportionally much more than BTC. BTC may double... Blurt may x100 or more. But not if the cronies have their way, and right now, nobody is doing much to stop them.
