Filipino Chinese Snack (Buchi)

in chinesecuisene •  3 years ago

Buchi, also known as Butsi, is a rice cake consisting of sweet rice flour and molded into a form with a sweet bean paste filling and sesame seed topping. Before serving, this scrumptious delicacy is deep fried over high heat. Chowking is the most well-known restaurant in the Philippines that provides this.

They are created with a sticky rice flour dough that is filled with a sweet paste, wrapped in sesame seeds, and fried till crispy on the surface yet soft and chewy on the inside.

Deep Fried Sesame Balls and I have a long history dating back to when I was a child. We purchased them from Chinatown bakeries and stole them from dim sum carts, where they were neatly split in half for easy sharing.

Yay, this is one of my favorite desserts. I used to other this from Chowking when I was working in Makati. I just eat two though because I know that this dessert is feeling. Perfect with tea! 🍵

I love buchi too!!! :)
