Sometimes, the old truism "The Only Constant is Change" seems to do little more than wreak havoc on life.
I look at those words, and inevitably end up at "Nothing in this world can be relied upon."
Except maybe death and taxes. Oh, and people behaving badly.
Obviously, change happens, as part of the natural order of things. But so much change also happens as a result of human fickleness and boredom... and that's where the chaos feels like it is always growing because people become ever less tolerant of boredom and constancy.
There seems to be this pervasive and growing undercurrent of "we need something NEW," and it cycles ever more rapidly. As in, something "new" that previously kept us happy for two years, now only keeps us happy for one year.
As a result, there is less and less stability, and more and more flux.
And yes, that is hard for someone who has preferred to spend his life seeking some from of constancy... perhaps a knee-jerk reaction to a childhood and youth that felt like an eternal cycle of instability.
Proof, perhaps, that we tend to seek out the counterpoint to what life has presented us with. Of course, when we are kids, we have less choice... being mostly "appendages" to our parents' (or caretakers') whims.
Meanwhile... enjoy this minute, because the next could easily turn 180-degrees...

I love the boredom of just going out for a walk or kayak In nature every day… that’s all I need. Walking, hiking, kayaking right here in Ontario Canada.
Heaven on earth.
Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.
Nature is definitely a great healer, as well as a great meditation.

Sometimes even upright and breathing on my own!
