Some time ago I went to see a craft festival, where what was done in the Middle Ages was shown. There was also a blacksmith. This is how he worked in Middle Europe in the 11th century.
In front is an old bellows that was really used at the time. But the blacksmith makes his work easier and uses a different blower.
The blower was made in India. And it's not too old. I doubt it was made especially for blacksmiths imitating work in the Middle Ages. They probably still do that somewhere.
I realize that I live in the richer part of the world. But if we're happier here, I can't say.
