Do Cats Eat Fruit?

in cats •  3 years ago

According to the "Internet" it says that cats don't usually want to eat fruit because they lack of sweet receptors, this causes them to not have much interest in sweet things. Very much like me, my cat is weird. Latte loves fruit. He enjoys jackfruit the most and will do anything to have a piece. But just to be on the safe side, I do look up if the fruit is safe for cats before allowing Latte to eat it.

The weirdest fruit I've ever seen Latte have an interest in is durian. One afternoon, I was eating durian, then Latte trots towards me and is begging me to give it to him, he was on his hind legs and meowing all over. I looked up "can cats eat durian?" and it says it can cause gagging and vomiting. But I gave a tiny piece to Latte anyway. Well, Latte seemed fine, but I don't think he's going to have any durian anytime soon.
