There is a cat that loves our family and comes over all the time, despite being owned by a family on another block. The cat is friendly, and the kids love to play with it.
Well, the other day we were playing outside in the evening and the cat came running over to our house with a live mouse in its mouth! It then dropped it and proceeded to bat it around and play with it in the front yard, much to the shock of my kids, lol.
I took the wounded mouse and put it out of its misery, which may have traumatized my kids as they then proceeded to tell everyone that dad crushed the mouse for the next few days, lol.
The cat was (is?) pregnant and we haven't seen it for a couple of days so it may have a litter of kittens somewhere or at its owner's house - we shall see.
