Outdoor Cannabis Garden on Blurt

in cannabis •  3 years ago

Welcome back to my little outdoor cannabis medicine patch, where my 2 seedlings are soaking up the sun and rain! Spring is here in BC (frosty nights are finally behind us) and the daytime temperatures are creeping up. These young plants will go out into the garden in a couple months to flower.

That's the Steem OG, named years ago on the old blockchain. This post will be shared to Steem, but otherwise is exclusive to Blurt.

And there's the Steem OG x MK Ultra, a real hybrid mix, one that I came up with and feminized myself. Both of these seedlings are female.

They were topped last week, and are both now sporting 2 actively growing stems.

Another look at the Steem OG, soaking up the afternoon sunshine! I'm still moving them into the back porch area at night, but soon they'll be able to stay out in the yard permanently.

They appear to be healthy with good colouring. So far they've only had plain dirt and water - no fertilizers, amendments, sprays etc. That's what I call "200% organic", and it's the only way I grow medicine!

Their destination is in the background of that photo. About mid July, I'll pull out the beans I'm growing in the back corner, and transplant in the cannabis! They'll have an intermediate transplant into a bigger pot soon.

When/where/what did you get high the first time?

I'm curious - what was it like the first time you smoked weed? I was 19, my friend and I had hash brownies and went to the film Strange Days... absolutely mindblowing experience! Felt like I was melting into the movie theater chair, and that the film had been made specifically for me, with special references only I would understand! And time was skipping and tripping all over the place. I also seemed to be able to think in ways I hadn't been able to before. Even better, there was no hangover. I couldn't wait for the following Saturday night.

How did it go for you?

I was 14 and we got some weed from my girlfriend's brother who grew in the basement. A couple friends shared a pinner in the backyard. We smoked in the bush a lot too, eh. I'm glad these seeds are feminized this time, it's going to be lots of fun. Can't wait for the next topping :)

Hah! I didn't know all those details. I should ask the blockchain more questions! I might learn about my own sweetheart :P

When/where/what did you get high the first time?

Nice question !

I was 15, and in London for the very first time, visiting my mate at university.(traveled down with his parents who stayed a couple of days, and then they went back home).

.....As soon as they shut the door, the ganja came out ! - I was shocked! ....DRUGS ! lol.

....Had my first spliff and got stoned in a ruin down students house, listening to The Clash album 'London Calling'.....(think the bbc's 'the young ones!)...

That sounds classic... pretty sweet memory. You can't really complain.
Hahah, stoners are the same all around the world.

200% organic? How does this work, what does it mean? :))

200% is my (silly) way to say "even more organic than 100% organic".

"Organic" tends to refer to plants grown only with organic fertilizers, pesticides, hormones, etc. Life on Earth is Carbon-based - organic - so any chemical compound or other matter that is made by living things is organic. Cow manure is organic, fish meal is organic, worm castings are organic, urine is organic, bottled fertilizers made using Carbon-based compounds is organic, human feces is organic, snake venom is organic, bovine growth hormone is organic, and so on. People believe organic means healthy, but really it just means carbon-based.

So I take it a step further and only give my plants what they need, nothing else. I don't cut corners by spraying for bugs, I actually have to go and manually remove the bugs (or use other non-chemical means to keep them from hurting my plants). No fertilizer of any kind - I grow in 100% worm castings (earthworm poop, ie garden soil). Plain water from the tap (after allowing it to sit for 24 hours to gas off any chlorine etc). Regular air, and light. That's it. Only what is required to survive and thrive, nothing the plant wouldn't encounter living in the wild.

It's harder than just "organic" growing, because you can go to the store and buy a whole line of organic plant food, organic foliar sprays, organic top dressings, and so on. I use nothing but plain dirt and water.

So the medicine comes out incredibly clean - far better tasting, smoother, and healthier than anything "organic". But it takes about twice as long to produce (ie you get about half the yield). It's super high quality, but it's precious.

No offense meant to anyone who grows organically. Good on you for not using all those laboratory chemicals! I'm just saying I take it even further.

My wife had cancer as a child and uses cannabinoids to keep it in remission and overcome the chronic pain and other neurological effects the radiation and surgeries left her with. If I could grow all her meds this way, I would, but we only have a small house/garden.

This reply could have made a good article, it shows how much you care about what you are doing. I perfectly understand the difference between organic and "organic", but many still don't.

Another thing, I understand using cannabinoids to overcome the chronic pain, but what's the story about keeping the "bastard" in remission, does it really work or what made you think that it does?
