The Canadian province of Alberta should strongly consider joining the United States. Under the leadership of Justin Trudeau, the federal government in Ottawa has failed to adequately support Alberta, particularly in its handling of the energy, logging, and oil industries. The policies enacted by the Liberal government have placed significant economic constraints on the province, stifling growth and creating unnecessary hardship for its residents. Given these challenges, Alberta’s continued participation in the Canadian federation appears increasingly untenable, especially when the United States presents a more favorable alternative.
By joining the U.S., Alberta would benefit from stronger protections for free speech, greater autonomy as an American state, and integration into the world's most powerful economy. The advantages of such a transition are numerous, making the case for Alberta’s statehood within the United States a compelling one.
