In this post, I will be breaking down how I created this business logo design for BretilliaAndro, a fashion business and a business that focuses on sales of women fashion products. As always, I really enjoyed creating this logo design… I’m a huge fashion person, so it was fun and natural to come up with an effective logo design for a fashion business. The aim for this logo design was to create a logo that reflects the business… I opted for a creative way to utilize the initials of the business name to create a logo that looks simple but at the same time oozes elegance which is the main attribute of the business.

The Process

I started the process with having a conversation with the business owner to know more about the business. I call this stage the discovery stage because it is a stage where I discover things about the business and how to utilize those valuable information and knowledge when designing the logo. After I’m done with getting all the information I need and having a strong knowledge about the business, I move to research. I love research a lot as it is where I get to learn more things and acquire more knowledge. While it is possible to get all the information needed to create an effective business logo from the discovery stage, it is a lot of times not possible because of different factors. For me, I try to get as much info and knowledge as I can from the discover stage and then get the rest from my own research. During the research stage, I gather more info about the business and also learn more about the business industry, competitors and target customers… add these to the information and knowledge from the discover stage, then there is a strong foundation for an effective logo design.

After writing down all the important points that would help me, I begin sketching out ideas based on the information I have gotten. I try to come up with multiple sketches and explore different directions for the logo. Once I am comfortable with the number of explorations, I begin to circle out and narrow the sketches that aligns better with the business, then I narrow further until I am left with 3 solid sketches that work best with what I am going for in terms of effectiveness and strategy. For this design, I narrowed it down to one only because it was the most effective for the business. A design that incorporated the initials of the business name and at the same time simple and elegant.

Once the design was approved, it was time to digitalize the sketched design. This is the most fun stage in the entire process as it is where the logo design comes to life. All the hardwork that was put into coming up with the concept comes to life. This was done in a vector design program. A business logo must be created as vector so as to allow for further adjustments and scalability in the future without losing any quality. After I finished creating the design in my favorite vector design program, I began creating the presentation materials for the final presentation.
