Do self-checkouts in stores make business sense? They are there to reduce costs and the bottom line for businesses, but many problems exist.

Patrons of the stores may scan the wrong price and item. There is a risk of theft from these stations, and the process is slow and arduous.

Store chains may be reconsidering their installation and use of self-checkouts.
