Hey, Mr. Throopanxious, Telephone! 2022. Acrylic on canvas, 16 x 20"
Another dog-sitting residency. This time my dear sister went away for a few days in August and asked me to watch her dog, Lexi. She has a very nice house. So I set up the residency in the garage to avoid paint splatter of more well-appointed floors and walls. Mornings painting. Afternoons and evenings by the pool reading, petting Lexi and drinking wine. I suggest dog residencies to all misfit people struggling financially in the arts. People really want to give back whenever you offer to watch their pets. Even if it’s just food and wine and chlorine pools. I think it pays better than child-sitting.
Here is my hostess and the rest of the paintings, all morning work. By noontime, the garage was an oven.
