Hi Friends,
I pulled out an old ATV (80cc) the other day to fire it up and teach Jacob how to ride a quad motorcycle. It hadn't been ridden in a couple of years so I enlisted one of my brother's help - we checked the oil, checked the spark plug, put fresh gas in, cleared the carburetor, fixed a stuck finger throttle and were ready to fire it up.
I turned on the gas, engaged the choke, and the pull string started a strong pull... and proceeded to snap the pull string! One step forward and a step back, as we had to pull off the assembly and fix the pull string:
I confess, it took me 3 or 4 hours to take it apart, watch some YouTube videos, and fix the thing - seemed like 12 hours though, lol.
I finally got it fixed, but I couldn't get the ATV running - not sure what the issue is, but I gave up and will work on it again soon. With COVID-19 in full swing here in California, off roading vehicles have taken off in price - things are double what they were a year ago so it is an added incentive to get this thing running - who wants to pay top dollar for a new ATV!
Thanks for coming by,
Brian
