Chittagong lost to Dhaka in the great bowling of Shariful-Nasum

Chittagong Challengers beat Minister Group Dhaka by 30 runs in the fourth match of the eighth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) thanks to the superb bowling of Shariful Islam and Nasum Ahmed.

On Saturday (January 22) at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dudal took to the field. Chittagong made 181 runs for the loss of 6 wickets at the end of the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Dhaka were bowled out for 131 in 19.5 overs despite Tamim Iqbal's second consecutive half-century.

Dhaka got off to a good start with the target of 162 runs. Two openers Tamim and Mohammad Shahzad scored 42 runs in 8.2 overs. However, when Mukidul Islam returned Shahzad for 9 runs, the pair broke up. Tamim played a great innings of 52 runs off 45 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes and was bowled by Shariful.

Then Shariful and Nasum took wickets. Other batsmen in Dhaka are busy with their terrific bowling. Isuru Udana 17, Shubhagat 13 and Andre Russell 12 only reduced the gap.

Shariful took 4 wickets for 34 runs in 4 overs. However, spinner Nasum got 3 wickets with only 9 runs in 4 overs. Besides, Mukidul and Naeem Islam took one wicket each.

Before losing the toss, Rubel Hossain batted first and trapped Lewis, who bought the opener for 6 runs. However, another opener Will Jack played a maximum innings of 41 runs. After scoring 7 fours and 2 sixes in 24 balls, he was bowled by Shubhagat Home.

After that, Afif Hossain (12) could not do much before Arafat said goodbye to Sunny. However, Sabbir Rahman played a cameo innings of 29 runs from 18 balls. The star, who was bowled by Rubel, hit two fours and an equal six. In the end, captain Mehdi Hasan Miraj's 25 off 25 balls and Benny Howell's 36 off 19 balls gave Chittagong a good collection.

Rubel got maximum 3 wickets among Dhaka bowlers. Besides, Arafat Sunny, Isuru Idana, Shubhagat and Mahmudullah took one wicket each.

Chittagong got their first win in their second match. However, Dhaka lost two matches in a row.
