Guava is a popular fruit in Bangladesh.Guava belongs to the genus Psidium.There are about 150 species of this genus.However, Psidium guajava species is found to grow more in our country.The equatorial region of the Americas is the birthplace of guava.It spread rapidly from Peru to Mexico.Guava is widely cultivated in India,Mexico,Brazil,Pakistan,Sri Lanka,Bangladesh,Burma,Thailand,Malaysia,Hawaii,Philippines,Florida etc.The optimum temperature for guava is 23-28 ° C. However,the mature tree 45 ° C.
