This is my entry to @mariannewest 's new #Blurtwrite project.

BlurtWrite Day 2

The prompt is' baby powder' and it made me think of this old Tetlow Baby Powder can that I have. I hope you are including photography as a category for entries, @mariannewest!

The Tetlow Manufacturing Company was based in Philadelphia and began creating a line of soaps and cosmetics in the mid 1800's
I'm uncertain about the date of the Tetlow product, but Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder came on the scene toward the end of the 19th century. It was invented by Dr. Frederick B. Kilmer in the 1890s.

I love it!! And Yes!!! Photogarphy is included, of course!!
maybe I should rename it to BlurtPrompt.
That leaves it more open...

I like Blurt Prompt! That sounds less intimidating than write! 😂

Hey Melinda, this is really cool! I wonder if they had lead and other goodies in those powders. They did some wild stuff back then :) Greets to WI from Germany - Caroline

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! When I was trying to find a date for this Baby Powder can, I read that Tetlow did have lead in them but switched to zinc oxide partly because it was cheap and this meant that powders and rouges made using zinc oxide could be purchased by millions of women who were previously not able to afford the more expensive rice powders.
