It's ok to not be "OK" at times

Prepare this, fix that, make this...
As women we place immense pressure on ourselves to keep it all together, through trials through balancing work and life that we forget that sometimes it's ok to not have it all figured out all the time.

This past week, in conversation with other strong women in various industries of work, I took a deep dive into the pressures women face on a day to day basis in fear of letting it all fall apart.

"We may share responsibilities with our counter parts, but we are always thinking of the next item on our invisible "to do list" to ensure nothing slips through".A strong statement from a power woman herself.

As I reflected on this statement, I realised that we place this immense pressure on ourselves in fear on not making "the cut".

If more and more women could realise that it's ok to feel tired, drained and not compare ourselves to our counterparts then we can change the narrative of the proverbial question "Are you ok?"

In closing, I quote one of my favourite authors "Stepping onto a brand new path is difficult, but not more difficult than remaining in a situation, which is not nurturing to the whole woman." Maya Angelou
