More of cd command in terminal ( Ubuntu terminal tutorial)

in blurtutorials •  4 years ago

We learned about cd i.e used for changing directories using terminal.
So we will be seeing more of that command.

What if you want to go to the previous directory...?
for example you went to :
cd a/b/c/d/e/f/g/h/i/...../z now from z you want to go back to a so are you planning to write cd ../../../......... i guess no.

So there is a command that is used to take you back to the previous directory and thats "cd --"

STEP 1 : Open terminal and move to three or four location up.

STEP 2 : now use cd -- command

STEP 3 : Press enter and you will be back to initial location.

That's how you get back to the previous location. that's all for this tutorial.
