A new week begins!
Although most people are busy enjoying the Labor Day weekend, I am primarily feeling grateful that I finished my latest editing project yesterday, and got all the files mailed back to the client!
With that, an old debt was retired... and whereas we really could have used some money right now, it also feels good to get one more thing off the list of "Old Obligations."

Past — Present — Future
We talk a lot about "funding the present with future promises" but the downside to that is that you end up in places — like we did — where you have to pay off the past with current work.
The thing that most comes to mind is student loans... but it also applies to business. You get a loan to get a business going... but even when that business doesn't make it, you still have to pay off "the past."

No Time to Rest...
Since I've been spending several weeks basically working for "nothing," there's no time for a break now. Just gotta keep plugging on. Much of today will be given over to adding new items to my eBay inventory.
Sadly, that's a slowing business... which seems odd, given that more and more people are "trapped" at home and shopping online is their only outlet.
Of course, I don't have any "essentials" like bread and milk.
At least I don't have to go to the bank and the post office today, because both are closed for the holiday weekend.

Harvest Season Continues
Meanwhile, there is still plenty of bounty to come from our vegetable garden, and that's a good thing.
What I particularly like about keeping a garden is the sense of reciprocity: You put a lot of time, effort and care into it, and you get something back at the end of it all.
Few things more frustrating than putting lots of effort into something... and ending up with zero to show for it, and empty pockets...
