Why Our Lives Are Both So Important and Meaningless at the Same Time

I'm sure that occasionally, when you're by yourself, you start thinking about the deeper aspects of life. Going further into the abstract and removing yourself from the grind of daily life may be rather rejuvenating.

All of us have entertained thoughts about the meaning of life, the purpose of our existence, our place in the universe, the size of the cosmos, and other perplexing issues. It is somewhat thrilling to ponder about, even though we never come close to finding the answers during our brainstorming sessions.

Additionally, we may discover some significant realizations regarding various dimensions and features that can broaden our awareness, even though we may not get near the genuine solutions.

While considering these two disparate topics—our place in the universe and how we came to be—I recently realized that, paradoxically, our lives have immense meaning and are completely meaningless.

Let's begin by discussing our position in the universe. It is common knowledge that there are over 7 billion people on the enormous planet Earth, and that we all live together. The world has 197 million square miles of surface area!

However, that pales in comparison to the size of other planets, like as Jupiter and Saturn, which can exceed a billion times Earth's mass. The Sun may enlarge by a million times. Thus, we are a small planet in relation to others. However, there's more. There are hundreds of billions of solar systems in our galaxy, of which ours is just one.

Extend your zoom farther, and you will discover that trillions of additional galaxies exist in addition to our own. Furthermore, our world may be merely one of an endless number of universes, even though we are not positive. Therefore, the Earth itself, let alone humanity, has little significance in the greater scheme of things.

However, if you take a different angle and consider how we got here, you will discover that the majority of the atoms in our bodies were created in the core of a star that burst long ago. Since matter cannot be generated or destroyed, it is recycled into many forms throughout the universe, of which humans are only one.

Because of this, it is stated that "we are stardust," which is a profound statement because it implies that we are both a part of the universe and its means of understanding itself. And for that reason, our lives and ourselves are so meaningful.
