Finding Yourself' Sometimes Involves Returning To Our Childhood Selves

Life's journey is undoubtedly more complicated than we ever imagined when we were young. At the time, we believed that growing up was relatively simple and that we could solve problems in life in a similar way to how we solved homework problems.

As we get older, we come to understand that the experiences we have have a profound impact on who we are, sometimes even without our conscious knowledge. While hard times help us become stronger and wiser, good times offer us a taste of the best things life has to offer.

We are always searching for our true selves during our early adult years and, for many of us, long after. That's funny because logic says that we should know exactly who we are and what we want, which is why it's so funny.

That isn't the reality, though. I suppose human behavior cannot be explained by reasoning. Because our thoughts, sentiments, and emotions are so fluid, reasoning might not always apply to them. However, you know what makes sense to me? It's the reality that, quite frequently, our quest to "discover ourselves" takes us back to our early selves.

Returning To The Heart of Things
Our experiences in life shape who we are in many ways. However, our fundamental identity never truly changes. This core is readily apparent while we are young, and we can tell a child's personality just by looking at their actions.

But as we become older, we add layers upon layers to that core that give us distinct identities. These are the layers, nothing more. layers that are reversible. The heart of who we were as kids remains, and that is all that is left.

When we come to this realization, we pause for a moment and realize that, in reality, our entire trip has really been about becoming lost. It feels like when we were younger, we were traveling on a pleasant road, but as we became older, we turned into more difficult routes.

We were then sent back to the old, pleasant route after realizing that we did not want to be traveling over something so awful. Does that make sense? It makes great sense to me. It's a trip to rediscover our essence. That person would, in my opinion, be joyful, inquisitive, amazed by everything, and carefree. One day, I hope to make my way back to that person.

Greetings😊
