You will have many decisions to make in life, and choosing to be happy will be one of them. While it is true that many things may be going on that you may not particularly enjoy, this does not mean that you cannot, if you so choose, create the happiness you desire. Believe me, there are a lot of wonderful things in life that are truly precious and come without cost. Happiness is one of those things. Simplifying the choice to be happy is simply opting to feel good about oneself independent of external events.
There are other decisions that must be made in order to support the choice of happiness. You must first learn to govern your thought process. Instead of focusing on the difficulties that come with life, your attention should be directed onto what is working for you. Constant thinking has an impact on emotions and other facets of life. Believing that you are not treated fairly by life might lead to feelings of depression and anxiety. Happiness, however, will find its way into your life if you remind yourself often and again how fortunate you are to be alive and all the things you can get from it.
While it's possible that life hasn't given you everything you've wanted or even led you to where you wanted to go, this doesn't mean that you shouldn't have experienced some positive aspects of it and have also moved on from where you were. Picking up a piece of paper and listing all the positive things that have happened to me during the previous week—and sometimes even the entire month—is what I usually do when I'm feeling low. It has always helped me get through these tough times. When I'm through, I'll find that my heart will be filled with delight and joy.
Don't forget to cherish life's small, wonderful moments as you count your blessings. These are the meaningful times that have the power to make someone happy. Families travel together for a purpose; in addition to strengthening relationships among themselves, it creates space for the sharing of affection, which can provide happiness. That's the reason why people who regularly spend time with the ones they love typically have happier lives than those who live alone.
Your emotional state will undoubtedly be influenced by the people you spend time with. It won't take long for you to get depressed if those around you are depressed. However, if you spend time with cheerful individuals, it will bounce back to you and make you happy as well. This is the reason it's important to be cautious while selecting pals. You should alter your friends if they aren't contributing to your increased happiness. You shouldn't be with someone if, after spending time with them, you find yourself unexpectedly down. Learn to be around happy people if you want to have a happier life.
