Elections is a tool in the hands of the electorate to remove or replace a non-performing government, using the voting right to bring a new government or instituting the old performing one. In our domain, the reverse have been the case.
A lot of qualified citizens have decided not to have anything to do with government. They rather would just go about their businesses, since the government does not play any significant roles in the welfare of the people.

In Nigeria where I hail.from, our democracy could be said to still be crawling but we were not where we used to be. Hence, having gone through one of the.most difficult times in polity, in the hands of the reigning government, Nigerians have decided to take the bull by its horn.

As a nation that have been plunged by insecurity in recent times, and where there is high rate of living because of expensive food, the more reason people feel that their vote could bring about the needed change.
As a close follower of the happenings in the political scene, I have come listen to some presidential candidates of one or two unpopular politic parties and seen that they have some great manifestoes.
"I listened to one other guy from one other party like that.....his name is Dumebi something, great manifesto and thoughts for a greater Nigeria.""

A Nigeria where:
Power supply is regular,
Universities are funded,
Insecurity is fought with technology,
Retirees are paid a month after retirement,
Medical services is given first at emergency before a prerequisite is requested,
Food security and affordable to all irrespective of class and clan, etc.

Those are the kind of people we want and not those who will play politics with human life and pocket the national treasury.

Fellow Nigerians, it is time we come.out to decide our future and that of the unborn generation. We know what we would get if we fail to play our part. Its going to be another four to eight years of doom.
