In crypto, some terms and ideologies don't apply when critically looked at. An example of such ideology is that "Every day is for the thief and one day is for the owner". Well, I beg to disagree as I got robbed of my six-month hustle, time, and dedication on the Blurt blogging platform.

For those who do know what a blurt platform is, It is just similar to Steemit, Hive, and serey crypto blogging platforms. In fact, Blurt was forked from Steemit but the only difference is that, unlike steemit where all you need is to have some steempower in order to make a post, for Blurt, liquid blurt is deducted as a gas fee for every activity on the platform.

Well, This post is just to raise alarm on the huge security lapses that still exist on crypto. I could see my crypto being stolen to an account created on June 2022 and yet, there is nothing that could be done to block such an account. Well, I feel some changes need to be made in order to curtail some of these criminal activities. As this said theif as of the time of writing, has stolen blurt from over 50 blurt user accounts. I am just surprised that no one is talking about it.

In my own case, I got to find out that I have been robbed like 10 days after the deed has been done as I have been busy these past few days with my offline full-time job. I must confess because I was hacked around this time last year and that made me lose faith in the security aspect of the crypto thing.

As I said, more work still needs to be done to curtail this criminal activity on crypto and blockchain at large. Awareness needs to be done on the users keeping their keys more secured and also, the dev of the platform has to come up with a smarter way to catch this thief as I have never heard of a case where a crypto hacker was caught.

It's unfortunate that your funds were stolen. Blurt and the Blurt wallets are pretty much secure and cannot be hacked.

I would like to know a few more things about this situation so that we can try to educate users and stop this from happening in future with other users.

Please answer these questions:

  1. Who created your account. I think it was forked from Steemit so do you remember who created your account?

  2. When was the last time you changed your keys?

  3. Did anyone other than you ever had access to your keys?

Please answer these questions and I'll have some information to act on this.

OK that sounds like it could be the leak guess that is why it is advised to never keep your keys in cloud storage. Looks like you only lost what 50 blurt? At least it was a cheap lesson learned. But I think you should look at your post it makes it seam like it was a security leak that blurt was responsible for which I think is misleading.

Here is the discord I think this link will work
