How I Discovered Crypto-Blogging

When faced with a problem, how often do we see the good in it?

This morning I was reminiscing back to the year 2020 when the covid-19 virus struck the world and many countries had to initiate lockdowns to protect people and limit the spread of the virus. It seemed like it would be impossible to just stay home for a few weeks doing nothing, especially for those who worked regular jobs from 8am to 6pm.

That was the year I was introduced to crypto-blogging and blockchain. It was like a world I knew nothing about and was shocked that something like this existed. Somehow it did not come to my attention until covid-19 struck.

I'm sure you would agree that every problem always presents a good side. While my country was under lockdown and I stopped work, I was terribly bored for the first few weeks I stayed at home. Then an individual in one of the crypto WhatsApp groups I was in invited some of us to join the defunct Uptrennd site. He said we could "write contents and earn money". Really? Where have I been all these while? I loved writing…how did I discover the crypto-blogging world before now? I guess there is time for everything and information is power!

I wondered how this was possible and since I had nothing to lose but more to gain by expanding my knowledge, I joined and started writing. I already knew my niche —fiction. So I got into it and spent more time engaging with other users on Uptrennd.

When Uptrennd was dying, I was introduced to Hive blockchain by the good friends I had formed a relationship with on Uptrennd. I started on Hive as a newbie and in no time, I was introduced to Blurt blockchain via my Uptrennd connection!

Never underestimate the value of connections

I reflected: what if I did not engage on Uptrennd and make these friends or chose to go solo, would I be here now? This drives home the importance of engagement on any social media or blockchain. No man is an island.

Ever since I became an active blogger from mid 2020, I can say I have consistently written contents and earned thereby. I can't imagine a day where I did write something.

How did I live before 2020? Some days, I'll try to make myself take a break and go offline but I never succeed. It would feel strange, as though I was missing something important. I would always scroll through my phone at least every hour, if I am not so busy with my office schedule, to see what's happening on the blockchain.

My brain is always brimming with ideas of things to write about and my mind is always thirsty to devour contents on the blockchain. In a way, the blockchain has positively changed my life and opened my eyes to a world beyond what I was used to.

Would it make sense if I say, "all thanks to covid-19"? But then I think of the lives that have been lost, people who were displaced because they lost their jobs and other unfortunate things that are a direct result of the pandemic.

All the same, I am thankful for a positive change in my lifestyle —the blockchain.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Uptrend is really the magical word for a lot of us. While this brings back memories, it also shows that a high level of resilience is needed to excel in this industry. Many people that were on Uptrend lost EVERYTHING and many of them are still struggling to get back to writing, but those that tried new options are now enjoying the outcome of their action.

Welcome to the blockchain. Hehe

I quite agree. Though some users expect the rewards to come without any or much action on their part. Glad I found Uptrennd, though the end was not palatable, it led us here! 😄

That's so true. The journey started there. Now, we can move higher

"Never underestimate the power of social media and connection"
I know there are advantages in social connection with the information we get which can help shaped us and make us realize we have been missing a lot if we hadn´t come across them.

I guess there is time for everything and information is power!

You are very right and that is where the power of God is shown. You could have known about crypto blogging earlier than when you came across it, but I guess it wasn´t time and when it was time, you met people who directed you into the world of blogging and I can say I have always loved your content especially the fiction niche.
