Why Are People This Heartless ?

There is this common slang "Earth is hard". It is used to depict that life is not as easy as it should be. Indeed life is not easy everywhere but sometimes we are the ones making this life bad.

Just this evening, I watched a WhatsApp status clip that showed a radio discussion between the presenters and an unknown caller. The discussion was aimed at people to come out and share some evil deeds they have done in the past that they regret and which for God to forgive them. To the greatest of my surprise, there was a story of a woman who sells local drinks called " Zobo". After testing positive for HIV, she started injecting some quantity of her blood into the local drink. She aimed to infect as many people as possible and has done this evil act for 6 months.
In the video, you will hear her saying, " I will not die alone", and " God will forgive me".

Those words made me wonder about the kind of heart she has and also whether she understands the gravity of her actions. Of course, God will forgive her. He forgives us if we sincerely confess and repent from our sins but she needs to understand that for every sin, there is a punishment. In the scripture, David committed fornication, and despite asking for forgiveness and being forgiven, the product of their sinful act was taken away from him. There are many other similar stories in the scripture.
I pondered for a while what might have led this woman to this horrible act but I couldn't figure anything out. This is also a revelation that should help us control what we eat outside our homes.

Earth might be hard but we can make it better. If those in authority and those that are being led should do their jobs well, things will be better. If we see each other as family, maltreatment, greed, war, stealing and other evil acts won't have a place in the world.
