My entry to the: Cultural contest

Hello culture, Here I came. I would be talking about the hunting festival of the Igbos in Nigeria.

Hunting is one of festivals I charish in Igbo land as it involves expedition.

Preparations for the hunting
The hunting involves every Hunter from the communities occasioned and is usually done before the Masquerading would start every year.

Hunding
The hunters will gather at a spot near the bush where the Hunting will take place for the day to plan and analysis the type of animal that could be found in the bush.
So, every Hunter will get ready and bullets will be shared among them.

Hunters settings
The hundred will go in pairs, while surrounding the entire bush they could cover. The array of hunters are experienced hunders who are ready to take any action when they notice the slit move of an animal.

Just wondering about this
You know, there are somethings that happen and you ask yourself questions like, why? How? Etc.
The question is just very simple in all this their hunting, I have never heard, seen or reportes that a hunter was killed in the course of hunting animals.

Types of animals hunted
They careful select the bush they would go for the hunting as such there are lots of animal in that very bush.
So, they end up killing different type of meat e.g

antelope

Bush fowl

Wild dog
Source

Among other animals.

The sharing
Some position of the meats killed will be given to the Chief owner of the land as it is called in Igbo Language "Onyewe Ala" this is to fulfil the rites and rituals to appease the gods of the land.

While the rest is divide accordingly.
This festival is performed every year.
