The enduring values of Christianity are often dismissed as antiquated, intolerant, and intrusive by those who criticize them. However, the very principles that they seek to diminish are the foundation upon which their own freedoms are built. The freedom to express oneself is a privilege paid for through the shedding of blood and sustained by virtuous conduct. Yet, subsequent generations can easily disregard the toil and sacrifice of their predecessors that provided the current prosperity.
Decadence is the aftermath of disregarded virtue. To enhance liberty and create opportunities for all, it is imperative to embrace virtue in a society.
Christian scripture asserts that virtue lies at the core of God. It is a patient and forgiving virtue that is held together by the perfect unifying force of love. The supreme act of God's virtue was witnessed through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, as He exchanged His life for the sins of humanity. The power of love is manifested through acts of selflessness, forgiveness and peace-making. It is regrettable that some individuals who reject Christian virtues are often driven by their own narrow-minded and self-centered interests, lacking in the spirit of love.
Justifying their insincere actions is what drives a person leading an immoral life. On the contrary, one who cherishes morality strives to get closer to God and nurture love in their heart. The worth of being virtuous is determined by the unmeasurable cost paid by God.
That which was once a society built on Christian values now faces the threat of moral collapse as progress continues to dismiss traditional beliefs. The effect may not be immediately noticeable, but it will eventually awaken from its slumber as a culture unable to revive free speech, slowly suffocating in a self-indulgent mindset. In this way, those who are deemed the elite will jeopardize the very fabric of society, much like a spoiled child who always gets their way without consequence. Consequently, the nation as a whole may one day find itself in a state of moral chaos.
As devout Christians, how can we proceed? Through the guidance of God, we strive to elevate the standard of virtuous conduct within our personal spheres. Our love is unconditional and abundant. Our readiness to forgive is prompt. We demonstrate the importance of virtuousness by embodying it ourselves.
Valuing relationships above outcomes is what we consider virtuous. Profits come second place to how we treat our colleagues. When the workplace cultivates Christian values, it brings successful results through outstanding products and productivity. When employees feel respected, they are more likely to treat others with the same dignity, be it colleagues, customers, vendors, potential clients, or volunteers.
A sense of emotional fulfillment motivates families to give and serve. We cherish the quality of virtue because it bears the fruit of love, evoking pleasant memories and feelings akin to a beloved photograph.
