The Lord never forgets His people. While they are away from home serving in a faraway country, he does not forget about them. He is aware of their valiant fight against health concerns. He supports them in their struggle against sin and the devil. He is aware of their unsettling doubts without forgetting them. He is aware of their sense of helplessness and does not ignore them. Despite their newfound celebrity, he doesn't forget about them. As a loving mother holds her baby, so does our heavenly Father tend to us.

Our God, who is omniscient, never forgets us, unlike our mortal intellect. We often forget who we are, but our devoted Lord always serves as a reminder that we are His priceless children. Even if we are directed by His astute Spirit, we may lose track of where we are even though our omnipresent Savior is there to remind us. Our merciful heavenly Father grants us the grace to forgive even though we neglect to do so. By having faith, we can trust that Christ's love will find us even when we feel abandoned and comfort us. Those who invoke His name are never forgotten.

We may forget to call someone back, but Christ never forgets to speak to us in private prayer during a time of pain, in the exquisite beauty of His creation, or in His love letter, the Bible. While we could neglect to pay a debt and be penalized, Jesus never misses making up for our sin with His grace. The Almighty's integrity is unquestionable, but we could forget a promise we made and damage our credibility as a result. The fact that our Master Jesus is remembered gives us peace of mind. He never forgets those who the Lord accepts into His Kingdom.

Do you feel abandoned? Have you lost faith as a result of being alone? If so, keep trying and let persistence finish the job. Andy Stanley once said, "Spiritual development is judged by steadfast faith, not by perfect performance.” Since we are all works in progress, we have faith that Christ will finish recording the story of His love and grace in our hearts. Yes, keep going, especially when people fall behind on their obligations. God is dependable. Those who are enduring spiritual exile are the ones the Lord longs to bring into the promised country of His presence. Even if He may seem quiet at the moment, remember His faithfulness. Our heavenly Father loves us and hasn't forgotten about us. He can recall!
