Does Our Existence Have Any Purpose?

We carry this ingrained sense of importance with us throughout our daily activities. that nothing matters more to us personally than our lives. Since this is everything we have known since birth, how can we not feel this way?

Every one of us is associated with a plethora of distinct qualities and objectives. It seems reasonable to claim that each person is a world unto themselves when you consider the influence of our loved ones, our jobs, our preferences, likes, and dislikes. I suppose for this reason, when people cross paths, it's sometimes said that "worlds collide."

We don't realize how foolish we are until we take a broader view. The larger picture—and the same is true of life—often offers viewpoints that we are unable to comprehend when examining the little details.

When you consider the entirety of existence, forget about the individual; the entire human race appears to be a small group of molecules on the small piece of dust known as Earth. The solar system as a whole is like one small, inconsequential point of light among billions of others. The same holds true for our galaxy!

The more you consider how small our existence is in relation to the universe, the more meaningless it seems to you. Although it goes against all we think and feel, this is the reality. Really, consider this. Who would care if we all vanished tomorrow? All would simply continue as they are throughout the cosmos.

You may approach it from a different angle and reach the same result. It is 13.8 billion years old in the cosmos. Contrast that with the average human lifetime of 80 years. Compared to 80 years, that is 13,800,000,000 years. A person's life is essentially a fraction of a second's worth of phenomena when seen in the context of the universe. Vanished in an instant!

We do so much in our lifetimes. Our sheer volume of activity is quite astounding. We go through a billion ideas and emotions, work, live, eat, laugh, cry, follow one route after another, and before we realize it, we are gone. What is the purpose of everything?

It's as though we were destined to have a short part, similar to that of an actor on stage, and then disappear after our performance is over. However, as you can see, the purpose of an actor's work is to amuse a crowd. If there is no one to hear about one's life, what use does it have? Or is there a more significant, deeper issue that we are still unable to resolve? Is there truly a purpose for our existence?

Happy Weekend 😊
