I know that Blurt has been built with a serious security system with those keys which prevents unauthorized users acces into your blurt profile and so on but the question would be; is this security enough? Why cant we have email verification? Why cant we have blurt identity verification? I am sure we can also have blurt withdrawal/transfer verification.
SECURITY VERIFICATION
This will enable new users of Blurt to verify their emails of phone numbers. This can help to provide more confidence on the user and also prevent pseudo users on blurt
Email verification is also another suggestion i want to make on this platform. It will be amazing to have this feature on blurt both for new users and for old users. For the new at the point of registration or signing up and for old users when an tyempt is made to sign in on a new device or when transfer of blurt is about to be made.
Due to the rising nature of scams on the cyber space there is a need to be cyber security conscious and take pro active steps to avoid the occurrence of such.
The identity verification will also help users and curb pseudo accounts on blurt. This will promote transparency and enable users to avoid scam.
Someone may not have complained about it but we shoukd not allow it happen before we take steps.
For instance my account was created by @amicablepeace with the help of @bestkizito who introduced me to blurt. My keys were also sent to me. That implies that someone is already in possession of my keys and could access my account if they so desire. I know that @amicablepeace wont do that because she is a good person. But we need to prevent it.
MY HUMBLE APPEAL
I wish to appeal to @megadrive and the co-founders of blurt to develop strategies with their developers and programmers who have painstakingly put this together to humble consider my suggestions.
I know that I want to buy more blurt tokens and i woukd also tell anybody to also invest in blurt.
APPRECIATION
I wish to express my sentiments of gratitude to the founders of blurt for the great work they are doing to keep blurt going and i know they will stop at nothing to see blurt grow beyond this point
DISCLAIMER!!
I have never suffered fraud or scam on blurt neither have i heard someone complained of such. I just feel that it will be my little contribution towards the development of blurt.
Most persons will prefer not to use verification or send out personal info to people you don’t even know. That is the reason some exchanges that use verification don’t get serious investors. I think with what we have at the moment it is okay so no need for email verification. Secondly you can change your password but you need to learn how to do that so you don’t make mistake. Good suggestion though
Thank you for this.
I've never thought of things as an issue because I was able to change my keys after it was created for me... It's that easy but I think I get your point.
Just be sure to keep your account safe, I'm very sure Blurt has more coming since it isn't as old as other platform so we should guard our accounts the ways that are provided already.
It's so thoughtful of you to bring this up, email verification 👍
Don't forget you still have the option of changing your keys
Account verification can ensure slightly spam accounts but
Its highly recommended everyone takes responsibility for their accounts security. Changing your password after someone else makes the account for you is a must in my opinion. There are well pointed out publications by the witnesses themselves with instructions on how to reset your keys.
Thanks for this. I know how to reset keys and all of that but my opinion was different and @megadrive has given a perfect answer
Email is old Web 2.0 tech and doesn't go well with Web3, I actually cringe now when I see email login vs Metamask login. There is also privacy risk when using emails and phone numbers, what if someone got access to those details on the database and now knows which wallet is associated with your email, does a whois on your domain or searches your mobile number online and finds who you are.
There are many self-sovereign identities in the works, we are still early, when one becomes mainstream we can integrate it if possible.
Thank you for this reply. I would stop at nothing to contribute the little i think will improve blurt...We hope to see blurt become mainstream sooner than later
