Remember when you were a kid? We as adults, don't play enough in the way that children do. Adults need to play too! If you could have a 'play day,' what children's toy or the game would you choose to play with, and why? Then, I want you to make a date — whether with a friend or your partner, to go do that play day!
SIATO. It a popular Filipino game with 2 or more players. You need 2 sticks, it could be bamboo or any branch of a tree, one is about 2 feet long and the other is about half feet long. You have to dig a hole and put the small one in it, having the other side at the bottom and the other end on top in a slanting position. The game rule is you have to hit the small one with the long stick once to get it up in the air and hit it again to take it further from you as much as possible. Afterward, using the long stick count beginning from the hole up to where the small stick dropped. If you hit the small stick twice while it's on-air, you will use the small stick for counting. You lose a turn if the other team catches the small stick when you hit it. When one team meets the decided points to reach, the losing team gets to be punished. The punishment? The winning team takes turns to hit the small stick until it reaches the farthest and all members have already finished their turns for the hit. And then from the point where the small stick dropped, the losing team holds it and takes it to the hole by shouting siato without pause. When you pause, you have to start all over again.

Ahhh, good old days.. I still remember how we used to play this. Every kid got addicted to this that we even play it at school after classes. It was fun playing with friends. You gotta use a strategy on how to hit it twice because you will have the edge on winning the game. But what more fun was when we cheat our way of counting hahaha
It's dangerous when you are eager to catch the small one. If the hitter is strong enough, you might hurt any of your body parts if you missed it. I once got hurt trying to catch it. I missed it and hit my pinky.
I remember also playing this game with cousins. We are a big family, getting players will not be a problem for us. In fact, we are too many that some of us were benched out, well the weak ones or the younger generations that are still not allowed to play this kind of game. We would start in the late afternoon and will end up at night or when our parents are scolding us to get home already.hahaha
Our playing field.
Good times. Good times. I wish I could play it again. It was a happy moment especially when you are on the winning team. It's fun to see the losing team running to get to the hole without losing a breath. You have to strategically appoint your team on places until it reaches the hole.
By the end of the game we're all drenched in sweats with smiles on our faces. And planning another round for another day.
